Baseball Game Preview: Old Forge Blue Devils vs. Pittston Patriots

Old Forge hasn't had much luck against Pittston recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Old Forge is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Pittston at 4:15 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Old Forge is headed out to face Pittston after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went Old Forge's way against Mountain View on Monday as Old Forge made off with an 11-1 win.

Jake Iacavazzi was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. TJ DiMattia was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Meanwhile, Pittston put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against Abington Heights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since May 6, 2024.

Elijah Barr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Barr was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Richard Tonte, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Nick Innamorati, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
