Softball Recap: Hickory Hornets vs. Grove City Eagles
It's playoff time, and Hickory had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Grove City Eagles a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on four straight.
The result came thanks to AJ Jarzab's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hickory's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emma Johnston, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Kaylie Gill was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.
