Softball Recap: Marion County Takes a Loss

Marion County lost against Larue County back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Marion County Knights took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Larue County Hawks. The loss was the Knights' first of the season.

Gracyn Mattingly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Marion County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bridgette Farris, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Marion County fell to 2-1. As for Larue County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion County will head out to challenge Mercer County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Larue County, they will square off against Hart County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
