Basketball Recap: Hope Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Hope Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the First Christian Lions, falling 55-20. Hope Christian Academy was down 47-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Hope Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Addyson Wilson, who posted nine points. That was a full 45% of Hope Christian Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Hope Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for First Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hope Christian Academy and First Coast Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for First Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gainesville Christian Community at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
