Baseball Recap: Key West Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Key West walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Satellite Scorpions a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-5 victory on Tuesday.

Not much got past Kasey Kasper, who gave up just seven hits to keep Satellite off the board. Kasper has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Auggy Davila, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Key West is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Satellite, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.

Coming up, Key West will challenge American Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Conchs surely won't give up without a fight. Satellite does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
