Baseball Recap: Key West Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Key West had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Satellite Scorpions by a score of 3-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 11-5 win on Tuesday.

The result came thanks to Kasey Kasper's shutout, as he gave up just seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Auggy Davila was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Key West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Satellite, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.

Coming up, Key West will head out to face off against American Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Conchs surely won't give up without a fight. Satellite does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
