Softball Game Preview: Winchester Red & Black vs. Cambridge Rindge & Latin Falcons

The Winchester Red & Black will head out to challenge the Cambridge Rindge & Latin Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Winchester and 14 for Cambridge Rindge & Latin dating back to last season.

On Friday, Winchester came up short against Arlington and fell 9-4.

Carys Gugliotta was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Legere, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Cambridge Rindge & Latin and Boston Latin, and Boston Latin kept the tradition alive. The Falcons fell 13-10 to the Wolfpack on Friday.

Winchester's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Cambridge Rindge & Latin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Winchester took their victory against Cambridge Rindge & Latin when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 18-12 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red & Black since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
