Soccer Recap: Central Davidson Takes a Loss

Central Davidson fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Asheboro on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Comets. Central Davidson have struggled against Asheboro recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 8-3-2. As for Asheboro, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Davidson will host Southwestern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Davidson will be up against Southwestern Randolph's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.46 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Asheboro, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against North Davidson at 6:00 p.m.
