Soccer Recap: St. Joseph Takes a Loss

The matchup between St. Joseph and Righetti on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The St. Joseph Knights might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Righetti Warriors an easy 10-0 win. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

St. Joseph was without their leading scorer, Abram Garcia, in Tuesday's game. With Garcia sidelined, Mathew Torres got his first action of the season.

St. Joseph dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Righetti, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will take on Orcutt Academy in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Righetti, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cabrillo at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
