Baseball Recap: Eustace Takes a Loss

Eustace had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 4-14 to make it seven. They came up short against the Malakoff Tigers, falling 12-3. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Malakoff, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-3 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Malakoff's part, Antonio Soto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Soto a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Weston Jedlicka was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. Wyatt Wallace was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Malakoff beat Eustace by a score of 10-0 on Tuesday.
