Baseball Recap: Canyon Ridge Riverhawks vs. Highland Rams

Canyon Ridge had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 4-14 to make it four. They lost 12-1 to the Highland Rams. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-0 defeat on Saturday.

As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games.

For Highland's part, they got a great performance from Garrett Grayson as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Grayson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cannon Eddie was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Grayson Lish also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Canyon Ridge has already played their next contest, a 10-4 defeat against Madison on the 23rd. As for Highland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-1 win against Thunder Ridge on the 22nd.
