Baseball Recap: Indian Rocks Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Admiral Farragut

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indian Rocks Christian). They blew past the Admiral Farragut BlueJackets 19-2 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Dom Zellner looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hunter Maddox, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Indian Rocks Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Perez, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Indian Rocks Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. Admiral Farragut's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Indian Rocks Christian will host Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Admiral Farragut, they are taking a road trip to face off against Chicago University at 10:00 a.m. on March 20th.
