Basketball Game Preview: Richards Bulldogs vs. Hillcrest Hawks

Richards is 1-9 against Hillcrest since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Richards Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Hillcrest Hawks at 6:30 p.m.

Richards is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Saturday. They were outmatched by Brooks and fell 63-34. The Bulldogs were down 49-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest was able to grind out a solid victory over Christ the King on Sunday, taking the game 68-61.

Hillcrest is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Richards, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Things could have been worse for Richards, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to Hillcrest in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Richards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
