Basketball Recap: Pike County Central Comes Up Short

Pike County Central was the 58-44 winner over East Carter when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pike County Central Hawks lost 71-46 to the East Carter Raiders on Saturday. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Carter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jocelyn Rudd, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Rudd a new career-high in field goal percentage (80%). Tori Bishop was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Pike County Central now has a losing record of 12-13. As for East Carter, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Coming up, Pike County Central will square off against Martin County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Carter, they will take on Greenup County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
