Softball Recap: Brookville Wins Going Away Against National Trail

Brookville won the last time they faced National Trail and things went their way on Friday too. Brookville was the clear victor by a 14-2 margin over National Trail. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Devils this season.

Rylan Eagle made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Brookville got a big performance out of Grace Burton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Libby Nutter, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Brookville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as National Trail only posted a batting average of .190.

Brookville now has a winning record of 3-2. As for National Trail, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Brookville will welcome Chaminade Julienne Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for National Trail, they will venture away from home to take on Fort Recovery at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Recovery will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something National Trail surely won't give up without a fight.
