Baseball Game Preview: Timpanogos Timberwolves vs. Mountain View Bruins

For the second straight game, Timpanogos will face off against Mountain View. The Timberwolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bruins at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Timpanogos is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Timpanogos made easy work of Mountain View and carried off a 16-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Timberwolves, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Timpanogos got a big performance out of Jace Hunter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Hunter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Hawkes, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Timpanogos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain View only managed eight hits.

Timpanogos is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.

Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Timpanogos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Mountain View struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
