Recap: Harleton Wildcats vs. Beckville Bearcats
It was a good run, but The Harleton Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 48-14 loss at the hands of Beckville. While losing is never fun, Harleton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 731st, while Beckville is ranked 316th).
Jkoby Williams was his usual excellent self, rushing for 188 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 59 yards and a touchdown. Williams hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorden Prince, who rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Harleton's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Beckville, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1.
Harleton will face off against Ore City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Beckville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Union Grove at 7:30 p.m. Union Grove is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
