Volleyball Preview: Silverton Foxes vs. Crescent Valley Raiders
The Silverton Foxes will head out to take on the Crescent Valley Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Silverton is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Monday, Silverton was able to grind out a solid victory over Central, taking the game 3-1.
Silverton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-9, 25-9, 25-20.
Silverton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Crescent Valley had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 3-0 win.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-9, 25-20.
Crescent Valley found their leader in underclassman Karsyn Horn, who had 13 digs. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Horn.
Silverton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Crescent Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
