Volleyball Game Preview: Manhattan Indians vs. Northwest Grizzlies

Manhattan is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Northwest is on a 12-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Indians will host the Grizzlies at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Manhattan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Derby.

Manhattan not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Derby to exactly 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Northwest beat Liberal 2-0 on Saturday.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Northwest was: they took both sets by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-12.

Northwest's win bumped their record up to 30-6. As for Manhattan, their victory bumped their record up to 27-8.

Manhattan was able to grind out a solid win over Northwest in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
