Alleghany had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They came out on top against the Radford Bobcats by a score of 58-48. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but the Cougars were the better team in the second half.

Leading Alleghany to victory were Kelsey Nicely and Bryce Leitch. Nicely dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Leitch almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Leitch has scored at least a third of Alleghany's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Lewis, who posted seven points and nine rebounds.

Despite the loss, Radford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kearson Carter put up 30 points and five assists. The contest was Carter's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Raelin Adams was another key player, putting up four points and six boards.

Alleghany is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points per game. As for Radford, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Alleghany didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-46 defeat against Buffalo Gap on the 31st. Radford has also already played their next contest (against Christiansburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
