Volleyball Game Preview: Huntington North Vikings vs. New Haven Bulldogs

The Huntington North Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the New Haven Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Thursday, Huntington North didn't have quite enough to beat Columbia City and fell 3-2. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Huntington North wouldn't go down easily and took Columbia City into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 17-25, 23-25, 25-10, 15-12.

Huntington North's loss came about despite a quality game from Carter Smith, who had 15 digs.

Meanwhile, New Haven had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Barons with a sharp 3-0 win.

New Haven never let DeKalb on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23, 25-12.

New Haven pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Huntington North, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Everything went Huntington North's way against New Haven in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Huntington North made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
