Baseball Recap: Boylan Catholic Comes Up Short

Boylan Catholic was the 14-6 winner over Freeport when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Titans took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pretzels on Monday. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Boylan Catholic saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Scalise, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Another was Gavin Pigott, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Boylan Catholic's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-11-1. As for Freeport, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

While Boylan Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
