Volleyball Preview: Rio Mesa Spartans vs. Oxnard Yellowjackets
Rio Mesa hasn't had much luck against Oxnard recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rio Mesa Spartans' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Oxnard Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Rio Mesa got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-10.
Meanwhile, Oxnard made easy work of Hueneme on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.
The final score came out to 25-8, 25-19, 25-11.
Oxnard can attribute much of their success to Jessica Camarillo, who had 24 digs and six aces, and Maya Cunningham, who had eight digs and 32 assists. Cunningham has been hot recently, having posted ten or more assists the last nine times she's played.
Oxnard was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2023.
Rio Mesa's record now sits at 8-12. As for Oxnard, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-12 record this season.
