Basketball Recap: Purvis' Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Purvis proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 23) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the West Marion Trojans out 39-36. The victory was familiar territory for the Tornadoes who have now won four games in a row.

Purvis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoey Robinson, who posted eight points in addition to 18 boards and eight blocks. Robinson is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Noa Bolar, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Purvis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in 12 consecutive matches.

Purvis' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. As for West Marion, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Purvis and Mize will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Marion, they are taking a road trip to challenge East Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Marion is facing East Marion at the right time seeing as East Marion is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
