Volleyball Recap: Pine's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday + How To Watch

If Pine was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Morningside Academy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Edward's Pirates on Wednesday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Pine started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-17.

Vitoria Claret paced Pine's offense, picking up 23 kills. Claret got some help from Talis Brinn and her 29 assists. Claret was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

With the loss, Pine broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 15-6. As for St. Edward's, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
