Baseball Recap: Weld Central Gets the Win

Weld Central hadn't done well against Valley recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Rebels narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Vikings 9-7. For the Rebels, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Luke Witzel was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Andruw Prince, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

The victory snapped Weld Central's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-8 record. As for Valley, they dropped their record down to 9-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Weld Central will face off against Peak to Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
