Baseball Recap: Devine Comes Up Short

Devine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carrizo Springs Wildcats. The Warhorses were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Carson Suhr was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Alfredo Ramirez was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Even though they lost, Devine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carrizo Springs only posted a batting average of .333.

Devine's record now sits at 5-7-1. As for Carrizo Springs, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.

Coming up, Devine will venture away from home to square off against Pleasanton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carrizo Springs, they will challenge Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
