Recap: Dunbar Wildcats vs. Chapin Huskies
The Dunbar Wildcats's game on Friday was all tied up 15-15 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Chapin 43-39. Dunbar has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Dunbar still got an impressive performance from Jordan McIntosh, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. Tiyanna McKinney was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Dunbar struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Chapin pulled down 27 offensive rebounds.
Chapin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jasmine Blake led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Blake's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Wise, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Chapin, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-11 record this season.
Dunbar will head out on the road to face off against Eastern Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Hills is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. Chapin's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lubbock at 6:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023.
