Volleyball Recap: Crisp County Gets the Win

Crisp County won the last time they faced Mary Persons and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 2-1.

Crisp County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Mary Persons saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kourtney Harrington had 14 digs and three aces. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Harrington. Addison Lynch also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Crisp County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mary Persons, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

After both having extra time off, Crisp County and Brooks County will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mary Persons, they will be playing at home against Peach County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
