Basketball Recap: Blum Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Gustine

Blum can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against the Gustine Tigers by a score of 42-34. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bobcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1372nd, while the Tigers are ranked 446th).

Blum's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Gustine, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.

Blum wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-41 loss against Abbott on the 11th. As for Gustine, they will be home for the holidays to greet Cranfills Gap at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
