            Basketball Recap: Wabash Apaches vs. Northwestern Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Wabash hadn't done well against Northwestern recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. The Wabash Apaches came out on top against the Northwestern Tigers by a score of  63-50. Given the Apaches' advantage  in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings  (they are ranked 86th, while the Tigers are ranked 264th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wabash to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Anna Daughtry, who  went 5 of 12  en route to 15  points along with seven  steals and five  rebounds. Daughtry continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played.  Brookelyn Buzzard was another key player,  putting up 19 points and three  steals.
 Wabash  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 15  offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwestern only pulled down eight  offensive rebounds.
 Despite the loss, Northwestern still got an impressive performance from   Berkley Wray, who  went 7 for 16  on her way to 16  points in addition to eight  boards and four  blocks. With that strong performance,  Wray is now averaging an impressive 2.1  blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of  Anna Bishir, who  posted 14 points and five  rebounds.
Wabash is  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten games,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record  this season. As for Northwestern, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wabash will take on North Miami at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Wabash is coming into the  matchup hot, having won their last five games. As for Northwestern, they will square off against Maconaquah at 7:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Northwestern has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
