Basketball Recap: Magnificat Finds Playoff Glory Versus Normandy

With a playoff win on the line, Magnificat rose to the challenge on Saturday. They blew past the Normandy Invaders, posting a 58-23 win. The Blue Streaks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Normandy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ziley Minich posted 11 points.

Magnificat has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points over those games. Normandy's loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

Looking ahead, Magnificat will face off against Strongsville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Strongsville will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Magnificat surely won't give up without a fight. Normandy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
