Basketball Game Preview: Dale Pirates vs. Vanoss Wolves

Dale and Vanoss are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Dale Pirates will take on the Vanoss Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dale is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Christian Heritage to the tune of 87-52 on Tuesday. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, in Tuesday's Canine Competition, Vanoss came out on top. They walked away with a 39-30 victory over Calera on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wolves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 35th).

Dale has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for Vanoss, they moved to 13-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Dale beat Vanoss 52-42 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
