Basketball Game Preview: Florence Huskies vs. St. Mary's Pirates

The Florence Huskies just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the St. Mary's Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Florence is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Florence is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Colorado Springs Christian on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Florence took a blow against Colorado Springs Christian, falling 70-25. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-15.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's was able to grind out a solid win over Eagle Ridge Academy on Monday, taking the game 54-46.

Florence better keep an eye on Michael Trechter. He was instrumental in St. Mary's win, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Trechter is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Dominic Lewis was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points.

St. Mary's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Florence, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
