Softball Recap: McCreary Central Raiders vs. Lincoln County Patriots
McCreary Central extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-13 in the process. They lost 12-1 to the Lincoln County Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 two weeks ago.
McCreary Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Stephens, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
As for Lincoln County, their record is now 10-18. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
On Lincoln County's side, Trinity Price was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Price was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Lincoln County let Autumn Durham and Madison Cassidy run wild. Durham got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Cassidy went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Halle Siler, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Coming up, McCreary Central will host Williamsburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
