Prairieland - Black recap September 24, 2013
Peoria Heights was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Prairieland - Black. The Patriots defeated Bushnell-Prairie City 40-0 earlier in the week.
Abingdon/Avon scaled the state rankings by moving to 398 from 459 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Commandos were able to move up by defeating Cuba/Spoon River Valley 48-12.
Astoria-Table Grove VIT's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rebels feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Alex Briney has thrown for 556 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Tyler Engel has 24 catches for 385 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Peoria Heights takes on Lewistown. Jon Adkins' team is currently in second, while the Indians are in third.
Lewistown led Prairieland - Black in scoring this week by notching 70 points on Astoria-Table Grove VIT.
