Grundy County extends road winning streak to four

Recap: Grundy County Yellowjackets vs. Forrest Rockets

The Grundy County Yellowjackets came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 56-50 win over Forrest. 56 seems to be a good number for Grundy County as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Forrest lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tristan Goad, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. Houston Matlock was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists.

Even though they lost, Forrest were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Grundy County pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Forrest, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grundy County will take on Cannon County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forrest, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fayetteville at 7:30 p.m. Fayetteville is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
