Ponder is 9-1 against Paradise since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ponder Lions challenge the Paradise Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Ponder will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

If Ponder beats Paradise with 54 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Ponder took down Valley View 54-37 on Friday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Eagles are ranked 1197th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Paradise against Callisburg on Friday as the team secured a 74-35 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.

Ponder is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Paradise, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-6.

Ponder opened the new year with a less-than-successful 37-24 defeat to Paradise. Can Ponder avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
