Baseball Recap: Quabbin Regional Has No Trouble Against Quaboag Regional

Quabbin Regional made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Quaboag Regional, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Cougars on Tuesday. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024.

Finn Leander was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Adam Adams was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Chase Talbot was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

The victory got Quabbin Regional back to even at 1-1. As for Quaboag Regional, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quabbin Regional will welcome Oakmont Regional at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Quaboag Regional, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Quaboag Regional Cougars challenge Prouty Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
