Live Oak waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the St. Amant Gators. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 last Tuesday.

Live Oak got a great performance from Sawyer Pruitt as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Pruitt has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cal Cassard, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Live Oak pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for St. Amant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Live Oak will square off against Opelousas Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.7, the Vikings 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for St. Amant, they will challenge Denham Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
