Basketball Recap: Northeastern Comes Up Short

Northeastern suffered their closest loss since January 27, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Northwestern Warriors by a score of 76-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (61), the Jets still had to take the loss.

This is the second loss in a row for Northeastern and nudges their season record down to 9-12. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Northwestern, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.

Looking ahead, Northeastern will be playing at home against West Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwestern, they will square off against Tecumseh at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
