Perry Meridian and Ben Davis are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Falcons will head out to face off against the Giants at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Perry Meridian is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Perry Meridian took on Decatur Central on Wednesday. The Falcons fell 10-6 to the Hawks. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by exactly four runs.

Macy Stroud made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Karsyn Naue was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Ben Davis took care of business in their home opener back in March. They came out on top against Southport by a score of 6-2.

Riley Gilliland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 15 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashlynn Chambers, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Chambers, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Perry Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ben Davis, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Perry Meridian took their victory against Ben Davis in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 19-13 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Giants turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
