Basketball Recap: Emma Rogers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carterville over Frankfort

Carterville lost against Frankfort back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Carterville Lions fell 43-33 to the Frankfort Redbirds.

Carterville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Rogers, who posted eight points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Seaman, who had four points along with six boards and three steals.

Carterville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Frankfort, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carterville will challenge Sesser-Valier/Waltonville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Frankfort, they will welcome Gallatin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Frankfort's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Gallatin County has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
