Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Savannah Green and Lillia Joseph

Faith Christian lost against Temple Christian back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Faith Christian Warriors fell to the Temple Christian Crusaders 50-46. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lillia Joseph and Savannah Green certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Joseph dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Green dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Green has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Glaze, who posted four points.

Temple Christian found their leader in sophomore Emily DeStafano, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 21 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DeStafano has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Conner, who had 15 points.

Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Temple Christian, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Roanoke Valley Christian the next time they take the court. Faith Christian will head out to face Roanoke Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Temple Christian will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
