Basketball Recap: Wellman-Union Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 26-26 at halftime, Wellman-Union was not quite Anton's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell 64-51 to the Anton Bulldogs. The Wildcats have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Anton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jose Avalos out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. Caleb Carlock was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Wellman-Union's record now sits at 7-13. As for Anton, they moved to 5-10 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Wellman-Union has already played their next game (against Amherst), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Anton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 87-16 victory against Cotton Center on the 14th.
