Basketball Recap: San Simon Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Rhett Wade and Joel Martinez

If San Simon was riding high fresh off their 65-42 takedown of Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The San Simon Longhorns came up short against the Patagonia Lobos on Thursday, falling 57-34. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, with their most recent defeat being a 51-26 loss back in January.

San Simon's loss came despite strong showings from Joel Martinez and Rhett Wade. Martinez posted 14 points, while Wade earned nine points and eight boards. Wade continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

San Simon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Patagonia, their victory bumped their record up to 14-15.

San Simon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Patagonia, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 61-43 defeat against The Gregory School on the 7th.
