Soccer Game Preview: Franklin County vs. Maclay

The Franklin County Seahawks will take on the Maclay Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Franklin County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Port St. Joe a 1-0 shutout. Franklin County haven't had any issues with Port St. Joe recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Maclay won against Lincoln last Wednesday with five goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. Everything went the Marauders' way against Lafayette as they made off with a 5-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Maclay's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Lafayette are ranked 482nd).

Franklin County's record now sits at 9-7-2. As for Maclay, their record is now 9-5-2.

Franklin County might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Maclay when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Can the Seahawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
