Softball Recap: West Creek Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fort Campbell

West Creek managed to slip by Fort Campbell the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. West Creek lost 20-14 to Fort Campbell on Monday. One positive for the Coyote, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Aubrey Coleman and Ariyana Lewis did some serious damage despite the final result: Coleman scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Lewis scored four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Coleman a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was MacKenzie Simons, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

West Creek is on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-9. As for Fort Campbell, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Looking ahead, West Creek will welcome Northwest at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Campbell, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Fort Campbell Falcons duke it out with Northeast Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Their pitchers better be ready for this one: Northeast has averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
