Softball Game Preview: Marist Spartans vs. Glide Wildcats

The Marist Spartans will face off against the Glide Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Glide will be up against a hot Marist squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 14. The Spartans blew past Marshfield 14-4 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Glide never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Siuslaw. The Wildcats have beaten the Vikings the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.

Madelynn Thingvall looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Glide let Montana Holcomb and Lillian Lee run wild. Holcomb went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Lee went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Lee has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Schartz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Glide's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Marist, their win bumped their record up to 19-3.
