Basketball Game Preview: Ball Tornadoes vs. Friendswood Mustangs

The Ball Tornadoes will head out on the road to square off against the Friendswood Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ball has given up an average of 54.5 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ball is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 82-78 to La Porte on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 512th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 242nd).

Meanwhile, Friendswood was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Texas City 66-30. The Mustangs have beaten the Stingarees the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Stingarees has come to flipping the script.

Friendswood's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Ball, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-10.

Ball couldn't quite get it done against Friendswood in their previous meeting back in January of 2025 as they fell 50-38. Can the Tornadoes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
